I think this movie was a smart ending to the trilogy, and everyone involved – the director, crew, and actors – treated it with more care than most other teen or college romance movies. It’s not common for movies like this to have such clever sound mixing and beautiful camerawork.

Julio Peña does an excellent job playing Ares. He effortlessly switches between being a troublemaker and a mature person, as well as between being scared and confident. For instance, there’s a cute eyebrow wag at the end when he’s looking at Instagram with Raquel – he knows exactly how Ares would act. (If you’re stuck in a hospital bed but still want to flirt, I guess you use your eyebrows!) Clara Galle also adds many layers and subtleties to Raquel, like her expression dropping when she realizes she was daydreaming about Ares while with Gregory. I also loved the appearances of minor characters like Andrea from Raquel’s carnival job and Sami from the Never Have I Ever game.
